ICT Awarded Best in Class at the 2024–2025 Safety Excellence Awards
May 18, 2025
We are thrilled to share some exciting news with our employees, customers, and industry peers.
International Cooling Tower (ICT) has been nominated for the 2024–2025 Safety Excellence Awards (SEA), presented by the Industry Business Roundtable (IBR)—marking our fourth nomination since 2019 (with the 2021 ceremony canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions).
This prestigious award is presented annually to contractors and subcontractors in the Texas Gulf Coast region who demonstrate an exceptional record of promoting and maintaining workplace safety. To be considered, companies must be nominated by an Owner or Contractor company.
For the 2024 award cycle, ICT was proudly nominated by Marathon Petroleum Corporation (GBR).
Once nominated, ICT underwent a comprehensive evaluation by the IBR SEA audit team, which included an in-depth review of our written health and safety program, as well as field-level safety performance and observations.
Evaluation outcomes are recognized at one of four levels:
- Bronze – Nominated and submitted, but not selected as a finalist.
- Silver – Selected as a finalist; demonstrates room for improvement.
- Gold – Meets or exceeds minimum requirements with notable best practices.
- Best in Class – Exceeds expectations across most criteria, showcasing exceptional best practices. Only one company per category receives this top honor.
We are extremely proud to announce that on May 16, 2025, ICT was awarded Best in Class! This is our second time earning this prestigious award in the Hard Crafts – Medium category.
This recognition reflects the high standards of safety and quality that define our organization and is a direct result of the hard work, commitment, and safety-first mindset demonstrated by our employees, supervisors, and leadership—every day, in every role.
The award was accepted on ICT’s behalf by Site Safety Advisor Laquitta Daniels (from the nominating site) and Senior Regional Safety Manager Rudy Torres.
We also extend our congratulations to all other recipients of this year’s SEA Awards, and our heartfelt thanks to the Industry Business Roundtable and Health and Safety Council® for organizing and hosting this important event that celebrates those who lead by example in safety each day. A special thank you goes out to our nominating partner, Marathon Petroleum Corporation GBR, for their continued trust and support.
